This Malvern stone-built residence from the mid-Victorian era, has fantastic views over the Severn Valley extending 30 miles towards the Cotswolds, Cheltenham and Gloucestershire. The Old Croque is situated on the A449 in Malvern Wells, very accessible and easy to find. The house is close to Malvern Town Centre (approx. 2 miles - so handy for the theatre and nice eating houses) and within walking distance of the Three Counties Showground. Malvern has plenty of beautiful Georgian and Victorian architecture to enjoy, and all sorts of shops and quaint tea rooms.

The house features attractive cornices, fireplaces, staircase, ocre floor tiles in the porch and beautiful arches. It started as a Victorian bakery and the original ovens are still in the cellars! It was a chemist, a clothes shop, and for 24 years until 2002 was a Michelin-starred restaurant, "Croque-en-Bouche" (gastronomically famous). The house has half an acre of garden, of which a third is vegetables and herbs. Guests are welcome to wander. Sitting on the side of the Malvern Hills, there are magnificent walking paths, starting only a couple of minutes from the door. You can take in the panoramic views to the Black Mountains or across the Severn Valley.

There are two large double/twin bedrooms, furnished to high standards, both en-suite. Colour TV, radio alarm clock, hairdryer and toiletries as well as tea and coffee making facilities, are provided for guests’ use.

The guests’ sitting room has views over the Severn Valley looking out towards the Cotswolds with cosy open fire in Winter. A place to read, listen to some soft classical music, and just relax with a cup of tea, which you will be provided on your arrival.

In the elegant dining room you can relax and enjoy a full English Breakfast including award- winning sausages (comment from a guest "best ever") from local butchers, and organic produce where possible. Fresh fruit, yogurts and special dietary needs catered for. The previous incarnation of these premises was as a famous restaurant... "We don't want to hold a Michelin star for our breakfasts but we want to come very close!"
